There are thousands of online accredited degrees available to you online.  Finding out if you qualify is quick and easy.  Without little trouble you can find a program that fits yours needs.

Understanding Accreditation
It is important to choose a degree program which is accredited.  Colleges and universities can be regionally or nationally accredited.  Regional accreditation is broken into six regional sections by the U.S. Department of Education and Council for Higher Educational Accreditation.  Credits earned from a regionally accredited school guarantee a certain standard of education and are generally easier to transfer to another institution.

While it is sometimes more difficult to transfer credits or veterans and military benefits and often you are unable to qualify for federal aid at nationally accredited schools, many employers recognize national accreditation.  National accreditation is through organizations like The Distance Education and Training Council. 

It is important to identify what kind of accreditation might be needed for consideration in future educational and employment situations.

Finding Available Programs
There are a number of online resources and sites to help you find the programs that fit your needs and interests.  Most programs offer flexible or rolling schedules so that you never have to wait long to apply for a program and schedule classes.  Using criteria such as degree type, schedule, financial situation, and prior qualifications you will be able to narrow your search to the most appropriate schools using search tools, group resources and online advisors. 

Do You Qualify?
Qualifications for online degrees vary by degree type and school.  Generally the minimum requirements for enrolling in a program for associates degree or higher is are a high school diploma or GED (General Educational Development).  A GED can be earned online and will then qualify you for further educational options.

Additional qualifications for online degrees may include previous academic records, work experience, or standardized test scores.  Each school and program will have slightly different expectations for incoming students.  The best way to determine your eligibility is to reference the college’s site.  Most schools have an option to request more information or to speak with a representative who can answer you questions.  Here you will usually be able to determine what qualifications will be considered and determine eligibility.

There is such a vast array of  learn online offerings that it is unlikely you wouldn’t be able to fit a program that matches your needs and qualification.  Perhaps qualifying for a specific program you want to enroll in might require doing some additional coursework before applying.  The schools representatives will be able to guide you through this.
